Em resultado da Lei 26\/2013, de 18 de Dezembro de 2013, Chimbunila, que antes era um Posto Administrativo do distrito de Lichinga, passou a ser um novo distrito. O mesmo faz fronteira a Norte com os distritos de Lago, Sanga e Muembe, a Sul com Ngauma, a Este com Majune e a Oeste com a Rep\u00fablica do Malawi.<\/p>
Chimbunila tem uma superf\u00edcie de 5.438 Km2 e tem dois postos administrativos e cinco localidades, distribu\u00eddos da seguinte forma: posto administrativo de Chimbunila-Sede com tr\u00eas localidades, nomeadamente Mussa, Cholue e Namuanica; posto administrativo de Lione, com duas localidades, designadamente, Lione-Sede e Chala.<\/p>
De acordo com os dados populacionais do Instituto Nacional de Estat\u00edstica (2021), o distrito de Chimbunila tinha, em 2021, 86.137 habitantes.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
