The first faces of “Al Shabaab” in Cabo Delgado: the case of André Idrissa in Cogolo – IDeIAS Nº 134e

This IDeIAS nº 134e (the English version of IDeIAS nº 134p), by Sérgio Chichava, presents the profile of a young man from Cogolo, in Macomia, named André Idrissa, who is regarded locally as one of the prototypes of the first faces of the “insurgency”. It sets out from the argument that speaking of André Idrissa could help give an idea not only of the sociological characteristics of the followers of “Al Shabaab”, at least in the early days of the formation of this group, but also of their motivations and ideals.
